Yahoo, we are off to the Smokies for a week plus of riding our new '97 Savage. What a great little bike. For those interested, I tried a Harley muffler (slash cut with baffle in) loved the tone but way too loud probably would draw too much unwelcome attention. I removed it after riding around the block once. Then next I used a 3/4" hole saw on the end of a 3/8" threaded rod to bore a hole in the internal baffle. That was mistake #2, it is LOUDER than stock by a mile but the tone is not pleasing at all. Leaving tomorrow not enough time to try any other options. Oh well.
